Converting from PT2 to PT3 crashes in Win XP

So I finally got PT3 up and running and I'm trying to convert my PT2 db. I used the "Convert PT2 Database" option from one of the drop-down menus at the top (I'm not on my computer with a PT3).

It starts by detecting the number of hands I have from each site. It says I have 1000 hands from stars, 1.8million hands from party, and about 200k hands from full tilt, which looks right. Then it imports stars hands, which finishes no problem. When it moves to stars, it crashed at around 40k hands. It said PT3 encountered a problem and must close. The error window had the two buttons 'close without sending error to windows support' and 'send to windows support.' I forget what those two button said exactly, but I think you know what error window I'm talking about.

In any case, I loaded up PT3 again and tried the same conversion from PT2. It detected the same number of hands, then started loading hands and detected a lot of duplicates. Once the duplicates were through, it imported about 400k hands before it _crashed_ again with the same error message.

I get the feeling that PT3 will crash again if I try this one more time.

Is this a common problem? If it is, do you guys know what's wrong or how I can fix it? If you know what's wrong, when are you going to release a new version with the fix?

Yes, this crashing during the PT2->PT3 conversion is a known issue which we are trying very hard to resolve (for the next beta).

In the mean time, I suggest exporting your hand histories to file in PT2 then manually importing them into PT3. You should have no issues doing this.
