Errors importing World Poker Exchange hands

Postby raygo » Sat Jan 10, 2009 2:11 am

I just discovered that PT2 imports hands from World Poker Exchange, so I did a mass import of my saved hands and got a ton of errors. First in in the auto-import screen: "Import Finished With Errors - The import finished but there were errors. Open the Utilities/Error Log Display/Maintenance window to see the errors - 13,189 file(s) read - 1,876 new hand(s) were imported."

Here are some of the errors from the Error Log Display/Maintenance window:

C:\Program Files\WSEX Poker\SavedHands\WPX_43_20090109_214349.txt of_GetHandPostRiver (2) - unknown action for game #148119423 (** Showdown **)

C:\Program Files\WSEX Poker\SavedHands\WPX_17_20090109_214326.txt of_GetHandPreFlop (2) - unknown action for game #145943545 (** Dealing Down Cards **)

C:\Program Files\WSEX Poker\SavedHands\WPX_16_20090109_214323.txt Unable to get the game level (2)...250 FPP Texas Hold'em (No Limit) - 20:25:18 29/10/2008 ET

They all pretty much looked like those or some other variation of these errors.

It means the hands aren't formatted correctly most likely. Post the hand history text from a couple of these hands that give these errors so I can see it. Also, PT2 doesn't import tournament hands or play money hands from WPEX so that may be the reason for the error with the FPP hand.

I have never played at a play money table so I am a bit confused about that one, and there are a bunch of them that reference (250 FPP).

Also, I can't find any of the files that it is referencing in the errors. I look in the HH folder and can't find them. Then I did a search with the file names and it doesn't turn anything up.

For example... one of the errors is:

C:\Program Files\WSEX Poker\SavedHands\WPX_43_20090109_214349.txt of_GetHandPostRiver (2) - unknown action for game #148119423 (** Showdown **)

I go to that folder and the closest thing I can get to that file name is: \WPX_43_20090109_212152.txt.

These files, that start with WPX_## look like something that PT created. Is that right? Right now I have 7 of those files there that contain a number of HHs in each of them. They are WPX_38 through WPX_44. I tried to do an import today and it again didn't import any new hands (I haven't played at all since yesterday), but there are new errors that reference files that sart with WPX_1 through WPX_5 which I can't find.

Regarding the 250 FPP hands, I found that I played a FPP tournament so that makes sense now... Obviously those hands don't import so I don't care about those errors.

I don't remember what WPEX calls there files but they are individual files for each hand and they have the game # in the file name

like:

148119423.txt

will be the file for game # 148119423

Those other files you found are the ones PT creates when it imports the hands. It combines a bunch of these individual hands into one larger file to import because it's faster.

Look for the original hand history in the WPEX hand history folder or if you have PT moving the processed files to another folder, look in that folder.

The problem with this hand is that after the river there seems to be a disconnect problem because there is no betting action for the other player, EyeQ, in this hand. There is nothing PT can do when the hand doesn't contain all the information. I suspect that there are similar problems with the other hands that PT gave errors on.

Here is another one. The error is "of_GetHandPreFlop (2) - unknown action for game #146521202 (** Dealing Down Cards **)"

It looks like it duplicated the "Dealing Down Cards" action...

***** Hand history (v1.2) *****

And another, that... well... I guess it just gave up.

So its clearly an issue with WSEX and how they save their HHs. I know there aren't too many people that play there, but I wonder if anybody has similar problems.

I haven't seen many WPEX issues lately but I seem to recall these kind of errors always being an issue with them because their software creates a lot of incorrectly formatted hands.
