HUD "snap back" when saved far from table (Dual Monitor)

Postby parraka » Sun Apr 26, 2026 11:58 pm

Hi,
I’m trying to position my HUD panels on a secondary screen (TV) while keeping the poker tables on my laptop. I’ve hit a wall regarding how PT4 saves (or fails to save) coordinates that are far away from the table window.
The Issue:
I can physically drag the HUD panels to the secondary monitor without any clipping issues (I have set CoverOverlap=5000). However, when I click "Save Layout", the positions are not stored correctly. Upon restarting the table or the HUD, the panels "snap back" to the edge of the TV screen.
It seems there is a coordinate offset limit in the configuration or database that prevents saving HUD positions beyond a certain pixel range from the table's center.
Technical Details:
VectorScaling: Set to N.
CoverOverlap: Set to 5000 (visibility is NOT the problem, I can see the panels on the TV while dragging).
DPI/Scaling: Matched at 100% on both monitors.
Behavior: Dragging works -> Saving "seems" to work -> Reloading causes the HUD to jump back to the boundary of the primary monitor.
My Questions:
Is there a hard-coded bounding box or a maximum X/Y offset limit that PT4 is willing to write into the layout configuration?
Is there any way to allow the HUD to be truly "unanchored" or "freely floating" so it can persist on a different monitor regardless of the table's location?
I would like to know if this is a structural limitation of the HUD’s overlay architecture or if there is a specific config parameter I’m missing to allow extreme coordinate values.
Thanks in advance!

That's a feature and there isn't a setting to allow for free placement of the HUD on different monitors.
