Unable to connect to the database....

Hello guys,

i installed PT4 but when i start the trial version and want to connect to the postgresql server it comes the message: Unable to connect to the database. Please check the configuration... I have this problem on an other notebook too! I really dont know what to do...

Click Start type services and click on it when it appears. Do you see PostgreSQL in the list?

Then you'll need to install it. See this guide for details - you don't need to follow the uninstall part though, as you don't have it installed.

but i installed it with the poker tracker in one download and i see that its in the system controlling ( i can deinstall it)

i deinstalled and installed the program now like the link you posted show, But when i install the Postgres it comes: The database cluster initalisation failed... This Program makes me really angry .. I try it on 2 Computers with Win 8 ..... it never works,,,,

If you have a version of PostgreSQL installed which isn't working correctly then you'll need to follow the uninstall part of the guide that kraada linked you to before you can reinstall.

What version of Windows are you using?

I understand that this may help:
Please try creating a new folder in the root of the C: drive called PostgreSQL and installing to that folder instead of the default in Program Files and that may work better for you.
